Themes:
All sessions, regardless of their format, will be 90 minutes long.
Panel presentation: a chaired or moderated session that includes a short introduction, three to five presentations, and at least 45 minutes for discussion, questions and answers.
Fishbowl: a moderated discussion with a panel of five to eight people seated in a circle. Panellists respond briefly to a pre-defined question, and the panellists are then gradually replaced by members of the audience who wish to share their views.
Lightning talks: short presentations that last only a few minutes are given by a series of speakers, then allowing time for moderated discussion, questions and answers.
Workshop: an expert, with or without assistance, provides training on a specific topic, possibly including a hands-on exercise. This is most appropriate for building skills on specific health policy or systems research methodologies, communications or knowledge translation skills.
Roundtable: multiple roundtable presentations taking place at the same time in a room, with seats for eight to ten participants at each table. The chairs and rapporteurs of each roundtable offer a summary of the key points discussed in their roundtable to the larger audience.
